Living in the Lap of Luxury on your Own Private Island

Is the thought of living in a luxury condo on a private island appealing to you? If so, you may soon have the opportunity to do so.

An eight-acre private island, currently known as Williams Island, recently sold to Privé Developers LLC. The company is an affiliate of BH3, who has partnered with well-known developer, Gary Cohen, to develop a two-tower condominium on the island.

The island, which is connected to the mainland via a bridge, was originally developed by the Cohen family in the 1960s. Cohen was also the developer for the high-end single-family home development that is situated at the other end of the bridge, Island Estates.

Currently, the island remains vacant. Plans have already been submitted by the developers to a local architectural firm, however. Those plans call for the development of two 16-story glass towers on the island. A glass floor-to-ceiling lobby will offer sweeping views of the ocean and Intracoastal Waterway. When completed, the two towers will boast 160 condos that will range in price from just under $2 million to more than $6 million. Prospective buyers will be able to choose from residences ranging in size from about 2,500 square feet to more than 5,600 square feet. Spacious terraces, private elevator entries, European kitchens, outdoor summer kitchens, and flow-through floor plans that allow for easy entertaining are just a few of the features new residents will be able to enjoy.

Along with offering high-end residences, the new development will also provide residents with a resort lifestyle while maintaining easy access to the heart of Miami. From their own private enclave, residents will be able to enjoy convenient access to several marinas in the area as well as Turnberry Country Club & Resort, Aventura Mall, and Gulfstream Park. Fort Lauderdale and Miami International airports are located within a 20-minute drive of the island. Soon to be christened Privé, the new condo development will have a slate of amenities on offer, including a 10,000-square foot gym, nature trail, private pier, jogging path, and a private beach. Gated security services will complete the tranquil lifestyle offered at Privé.

Pre-sales for condos at Privé, are underway. A final completion date for the condo development has not yet been scheduled.
