Eats & Beats caters to local tastes during Wine and Food Festival

Locals understand what it means to be stuck amidst tourists. So does Eats & Beats. The South Beach Wine & Food Festival is in town, but locals are heading elsewhere.

At Miami Wine Week, during the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, tourists will be flooding the main streets, spending excessive amounts of money on the local fare. Locals, however, are sneaking behind the scenes to Eats & Beats. Locals are avoiding these streets, and will enjoy fine wine and great music without all of the flair and puffed price tags.


Eats & Beats caters to the local demographic instead of the tourists that visit from out of town. On February 22 from 7:30 p.m. until midnight, at the Moore Building in the Design District, Eats & Beats will take over four floors, and feature 22 restaurants, four bakeries, five breweries, and 16 liquor and wine companies that will all be showing off their best wine and food.

Eats & Beats features local bistros including the Rusty Pelican, Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, Nikki Beach, and the Epicure Gourmet Market & Café. The Passion Restaurant Group, which owns Dolores, Crazy About You, and Love Is Blind, will feature dishes from all three of its eateries.

Musical accompaniment includes Kitty Carmichael, DJ Michelle Pooch, Sand Man, DJ Troubles, and Miami’s own DJ Irie.

General Admission is only $99, which includes Admission to Eats & Beats from 8:30 p.m. until midnight, and complimentary food samplings of spirits, wines, desserts, and food from each restaurant. VIP Admission, however, includes early admission to the press and VIP Eats & Beats tastings, which begin at 7:30 p.m., VIP door for easy entry and re-entry, access to the VIP Lounge with unlimited spirits and wine samplings on top of the general admission perks.
